Zenith

Today's word of the day is zenith. Zenith is the point of the celestial sphere that is directly opposite the nadir and vertically above the observer, which could also mean "the highest point reached in the heavens by a celestial body". For those who don't know, nadir is an extreme state of adversity or the lowest point of anything. So nadir is a point on Earth (typically the center) that extends through the Earth and into the sky, that is at opposite point of the zenith. The zenith and nadir are parallel to each other from earth's surface extending out into space. In topography, a summit is a point on a surface that is higher in elevation than all points immediately adjacent to it. Mathematically, a summit is a local maximum in elevation. The topographic terms "acme", "apex", "peak", and "zenith" are synonyms. Which makes nadir a antonym of zenith. A nadir is a point on a surface that is lower in elevation than all points immediately adjacent to it. Mathematically, a nadir is a local minimum of elevation. A nadir may be the lowest point of a dry basin or depression, or the deepest point of a body of water or ice. In this case a depression is angular distance below the horizon. And I believe this is good enough. For those of you who actually read this. choose a number between 15 and 418 and choose between 1&2. Leave a comment below for your answer.
